Douglas E. Dormer, Jr.
Doug Dormer is a co-founder of Cardinal Midstream, LLC and has more than 20 years of experience in nearly every aspect of the natural gas business. Before assuming his current role as CEO, Doug served as Cardinal's Executive Vice President through 2012. At the time of the sale of its assets to Atlas Pipeline Partners, L.P. in late 2012, Cardinal was the largest gas processor in Oklahoma’s Arkoma Woodford Shale. The company’s assets included three operated cryogenic processing plants with 220 MMcfd of capacity, a fourth processing plant under construction to add an additional 120 MMcfd of operated capacity, approximately 66 miles of pipelines, a treating facility with 42 MMcfd of capacity, approximately 56,000 horsepower of compression, associated dehydration facilities and 17 skid-mounted contract gas treating plants. In early 2013, Doug was named CEO and will lead the company alongside its president, Marc Lyons.
In 2005, Doug was a co-founder of Cardinal Gas Solutions LP, a contract gas treating company that was sold to Crosstex Energy Services, L.P. in late 2006. In 2003, he was a co-founder and Executive Vice President of Regency Gas Services, LLC, a natural gas midstream company with gathering, processing, treating and compression assets. At the time of its sale to Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Inc. in late 2004, Regency’s assets consisted of approximately 3,000 miles of pipelines, 115,000 horsepower of compression and five cryogenic gas processing plants with aggregate processing capacity of 330 MMcfd.
In 2001, Doug co-founded Cardinal Gas Services, LLC, a contract gas treating company that was merged into Regency Gas Services, LLC in 2004. Doug formed Allied Partners, LLC in late 2000 to pursue acquisitions and consulting projects in the energy industry. From 1996 to 2000, he was with Energy Transfer Company and responsible for acquiring, financing and managing several of its natural gas midstream and oilfield service investments. From 1994 to 1996, Doug was a consultant to Cornerstone Natural Gas, Inc.
Doug began his career with KPMG Peat Marwick in its Houston energy practice. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
